Homilies

The Word is meant to be heard.

Received in the pew. Carried into the week. Lived, slowly, until it changes us. Preaching is not entertainment, and we are not building a video archive — we are preparing a small formation room for the Word, preached well.

Every Sunday, faithful priests of our diocese stand at the ambo and break open the Word for people they know by name. Some of those homilies deserve to be heard a second time, and a third — sat with on a Wednesday afternoon, carried into a long drive, returned to in a hard week.

We are gathering a small, careful collection. Not the loudest preachers — the truest ones. Not a library, but a few rooms a person can return to.

Faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

Romans 10:17

This space is opening slowly. Until it does, the Word still arrives every morning — in the daily reflection, in the Mass on the radio, and in the homily your own pastor will preach this Sunday.

If you are a priest of the Diocese of Toledo — or know one whose homilies should be shared more widely — we would be honored to hear from you.
